21st Century Scholars
The 21st Century Scholarship Program covers 100% of tuition at Indiana public colleges and part of the tuition at Indiana private colleges. It is based on household income. Students are automatically enrolled (based on free and reduced lunch status) or can apply in 7th or 8th grade. Students must be registered by June 30th of the student’s 8th grade year.
Students who are enrolled must meet all requirements to obtain the scholarship upon graduation. Requirements include:
- Graduating from high school with a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Earn at least a Core 40 diploma
- Complete the Scholar Success Program
- Do not violate the Scholar Pledge
Students will have to complete three tasks in the Scholar Success Program each year of high school to stay on track for earning the scholarship. Students who need help with these tasks can talk to Mrs. Kramer. The tasks include:
- 9th Grade: Create a graduation plan, participate in an extracurricular or service activity, watch “Paying for College 101”
- 10th Grade: Take a career assessment, get workplace experience, watch “Estimate Your College Costs”
- 11th Grade: Visit a college campus, take a college entrance exam (all students take the SAT at school), search for scholarships
- 12th Grade: Submit your college application, watch “College Success 101,” file the FAFSA
